These Sriracha & Maple Roasted Mixed Nuts are the perfect amount of hot and sweet. They’re great for a party appetizer or edible gift this holiday season!
Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you eat so many nuts that you think you might turn into one. The latter is how you will feel after you eat these sriracha & maple nuts! And trust me, that is a good thing.
Raise your hand if you are one of those people who puts sriracha on everything! I knew there were a few of you out there! I didn’t discover sriracha until college and I’ve been hooked ever since. At the time, I was in my ‘put ranch dressing over everything’ phase and the heat of sriracha went perfectly with the ranch dressing.
After college I managed to grow out of my ranch dressing phase, but the sriracha has stayed with me ever since. I’m not quite sure why it is so addicting and loved by so many people, but it just is! It adds a nice heat without being overpowering or adding any other strange flavors that might take away from the main dish. I could probably go on an on about my love of sriracha, but I’m guessing that many of you out there feel the same way I do about it, so I will spare you. But, if you are wondering what the heck I’m talking about, I suggest you go get yourself a big bottle of it and give it a try!
We eat a lot of nuts in our house and as much as I adore a simple roasted and salted, or even raw, nut, I also really love all the fancy flavors that they are coming out with these days. Unfortunately, most of them have a billion ingredients in them, half of which I can’t even pronounce. Also, most of them don’t seem to be gluten free, which makes me really sad. I want to eat fun flavored nuts too!
I’m a huge sucker for a sweet and salty combo and do you know what is even better than sweet and salty?? Sweet, salty, and spicy! These flavors go so well together and the maple syrup makes them ooey and gooey and sticky and delicious. I’m warning you now, you will want to eat the entire batch in one sitting.
Before I leave you with the recipe I will warn you of one more thing. If you are a fellow sriracha lover, you might be familiar with the recent press that the sriracha plant has been getting. If not, I will fill you in. Apparently the sriracha factory emits a strong odor of cooking chili peppers that irritates the noses and eyes of some residents of the California town. There was a lawsuit started to try to get the factory moved, but from what I can remember, they lost and the factory stayed in place. Why am I telling you about this? When you open the oven to flip the nuts during the cooking process you might get a big wiff of hot sriracha sauce, so be careful and don’t stick your head in right away. Unless you are a super sriracha addict and that sounds pleasant to you!

These Sriracha & Maple Roasted Mixed Nuts are the perfect amount of hot and sweet. They’re great for a party appetizer or edible gift this holiday season!
Ingredients
- 3 cups roasted, unsalted mixed nuts, your favorite kinds
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce*
- 2 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons canola oil

- Place the nuts into the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, tossing a few times with a spatula to make sure they don’t all stick together.
- Once you have taken the nuts out of the oven, let them sit for about 20 minutes so they can harden up, but toss them around a few times while they cool or you may end up with one big mass of nuts.

Thanks so much, Danielle! Sweet and salty is the best!
Cindy @ Pick Fresh Foods says
Yum, these sound like an amazing combination! I love flavored nuts, but I can’t bring myself to buy any after I read the label. Why so many crazy ingredients?!
Smart to make them at home. You know what is in them and they are less expensive.
Thanks for the warning on opening the oven. I would be the one to take a deep breath in when I pull them out. Haha
She Likes Food says
I know! Why must they load up nuts, which are healthy, with all kinds of strange ingredients?! I think I will be making them much more at home now that I realize they can be so easy and so good. Unfortunately, I learned about the strong sriracha smell from experience, haha!
Gayle @ Pumpkin 'N Spice says
I totally feel like a nut today, Izzy! Must be the Monday blahs. My husband and I snack on almonds all the time, so this recipe looks amazing! I’ve only had sriracha a few times, but I do like it. And I think it would be absolutely perfect to jazz up some mixed nuts!
She Likes Food says
Haha, Gayle! This is an awesome comment! Mondays aren’t too bad for me because I have them off, but I’m back to work tomorrow and I am sure I will be feeling like a nut too! I eat a lot of almonds too, they are such a good snack! I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy food, but a little bit of sriracha on these nuts really tastes good. Have a great week, Gayle!
Kathy @ Olives & Garlic says
Izzy, you had me as Sriracha. 🙂 I need to make these nuts.
She Likes Food says
If you love sriracha, you will surely love these, Kathy!
Monet says
My husband? ADORES sriracha, and I’ve grown to love it now too! These nuts look just delicious. We’ll be making soon!
She Likes Food says
For some reason I can’t get my husband to come around to sriracha. He has his favorite hot sauce and doesn’t seem interested in trying a new one, hopefully one of these days I can get to to love it! Your husband would definitely love these nuts!
Katie @ Whole Nourishment says
Nuts with a sweet, salty, and spicy flavor combo – what’s not to love! I’m a huge nut lover too but I’ve not branched out to putting sriracha on them. Delicious snack!
She Likes Food says
sweet, salty, and spicy is my new favorite combo! I usually just eat plain nuts, but it was fun to spice them up a little bit!
Bri | Bites of Bri says
We don’t put sriracha on everything, but we use it a LOT! I love spiced nuts as a snack and my husband does too. Thanks, Izzy.
She Likes Food says
I guess I don’t put it on quite everything, but I do use it a lot too! It just adds a nice spice without being too hot! I’m so glad you like these, Bri!
Laura @ Raise Your Garden says
Well, I’m new to the sriracha scene, will have to try it!
And we are total nut lovers here,…..we consume so many nuts…..I won’t even admit how many we eat. But love every variety! Yum.
She Likes Food says
You must try it, Laura! If you like a little heat to your food, you will love it! Haha, I eat a lot of nuts too! My desk drawer always seems to be full of them and I’m always snacking on them. I guess it is a good thing they are healthy!
Joanne says
Guilty as charged re: sriracha. I want it all over ALL THE THINGS. And I feel like this sweet spicy savory combo is going to be my downfall. In the best way.
She Likes Food says
Me too! All over all the things!! It was totally my downfall and I ate an absurd amount of them, I finally had to cut myself off!
Sarah@WholeandHeavenlyOven says
These nuts look TOTALLY addicting. In the best possible way of course. 😀 Seriously, though I LOVE the combo of the three S’s (sweet, salty, ‘n’ spicy) and these nuts are definitely calling out to me! 🙂
She Likes Food says
I got so addicted to them that I finally had to cut myself off, haha! I was about to make my fourth batch when I finally just made myself put down the bottle of sriracha. I love the three S’s too, such a great combo! Thanks, Sarah!!
Olivia - Primavera Kitchen says
wow… This recipe must be so good! I love nuts and this combo of sweet, salty and spicy sounds like the best kind of crazy!
She Likes Food says
Thanks Olivia! The combo is definitely addicting, but in a very good way!
Natalie @ Tastes Lovely says
I am obsessed with sriracha too! I love that it is a just a tiny bit spicy, but brings a ton of flavor too. It seems to make everything better. I haven’t grown out of my ranch addiction, BUT, have you tried adding sriracha to ranch? It’s amazing!
I bet these nuts taste just delicious. I love sweet and salty with a little kick. Can’t wait to try these! What an easy appetizer to set out at a party.
She Likes Food says
That is exactly what I love about it too! It goes so well with pretty much everything you use it in! I do still love to eat ranch dressing sometimes, but I don’t go through a bottle a week anymore like I used to! Sriracha and ranch is the best! I used to put it all over my pizza!
This would be great for a party! The thought of it makes me want to have a party now just so I can make more of these and won’t be tempted to eat all of them myself 🙂
Leah | So, How's It Taste? says
I could snack on these for days! I’m a huge mixed nut lover and a big fan of Sriracha. What a win win!
She Likes Food says
I could snack on these for days too, in fact that is exactly what I did and I finally had to make myself put them down! I think I made about 4 batches total!
Jess @ Flying on Jess Fuel says
Soooo yummy! I just this month got some Sriracha Roasted Cashews from NatureBox and they were so, so, so good… so I DEFINITELY need to try these!! I love the maple for a touch of sweetness too!
Hi, Cheeto!
She Likes Food says
I just saw an add for those cashews yesterday and they looked so good! I need to find some of those asap! Or I guess I could just make another batch of these! The maple definitely adds a nice touch! Cheeto says hi 🙂
Jeanette | Jeanette's Healthy Living says
Love the idea of sriracha to spice up some sweet and salty nuts!
She Likes Food says
Thanks Jeanette! The spice of the sriracha adds such a nice flavor to these nuts!
Sarah @ Running On Brie says
Okay- confession- when I’m a little low on food in the pantry, I literally search for food on which to put Sriracha sauce. I just need a vehicle, any vehicle…goldfish, a tortilla chip, carrots…you name it- sriracha sauce will make a quick snack out of it. I can’t get enough of the stuff! These nuts sounds like a dream come true.
She Likes Food says
Hahaha, that is the best thing ever! I can totally relate! As long as sriracha is involved you know everything will be ok! You will definitely love these nuts, Sarah 🙂
Annie @Maebells says
These look amazing!! I usually make a granola or trail mix on Sundays for us to snack on during the week but I am totally making this over the weekend! It sounds so good! I am such a sucker for spicy/salty/sticky treats!
She Likes Food says
Thanks Annie! I’m actually kind of a wimp when it comes to most spicy foods but I really couldn’t stop eating these! I finally cut myself off after I realized I was purposely not bringing any breakfast to work just so I could eat these for breakfast!
Katie says
I have never even heard of Sriracha??!! And sadly I have not outgrown my ranch addiction, sounds like I need to try something new. I love the sweet, salty and spicy combo 🙂
She Likes Food says
OMG! You must go to the store immediately and buy some sriracha! You will love it and it goes really well with ranch 🙂
Kelly @ hidden fruits and veggies says
My boyfriend is still in his “put Ranch on everything” phase . And when it’s not Ranch, it’s mayo. Still a phase when you’re 25, right? He’ll totally grow out of it?? 😉 I’m loving this sweet + spicy + salty combo! I’ve been eating nuts like crazy lately, so if you turn into one, I’m right behind you.
She Likes Food says
I still have a soft spot for ranch, but I had to stop buying it because I was going through a bottle a week! Now I only get to enjoy it when we go to someone’s house and they happen to have it on hand. Haha, we will both be sweet, salty, and spicy nuts together 🙂
Arpita@ The Gastronomic Bong says
Sriracha glazed nuts.. what a brilliant idea!!. sweet, salty & spicy totally my kinda thing.. I am sure I will finish off the entire batch in one go.. 😉
She Likes Food says
If you are anything like me, you will finish off the entire batch and then make two more batches and finish those off too! 🙂
Kelly says
This is such a great idea, Izzy! We are obsessed with sriracha and sweet, salty and spicy is so so good! This batch would not last long at our house for sure – it looks incredible!
She Likes Food says
Thank you, Kelly! This batch didn’t last long at my house either, and the two batches after this one lasted even less time 🙂
Helen @ Scrummy Lane says
I heard that there was a sriracha shortage at the moment, too? Not sure if it’s true and if so, why …
It’s funny that I’m reading this today, because just this morning I was thinking about whether it was possible to eat too many nuts! (I mean, whether it’s bad for your health or anything) Because … some days I’m sure I eat too many of them! (in my oatmeal, in a granola bar, just as a handful for a quick and not-too-unhealthy snack)
Anyway, loving this maple and sriracha combo. It sounds totally addictive!
She Likes Food says
Hi Helen! I feel like I remember hearing something like that too, maybe it had something to do with moving the plant? Thankfully I have a big bottle in the refrigerator right now! Haha, That is a good question! I have a really sensitive stomach and sometimes if I eat too many I get a stomach ache, I think it is all the fiber, maybe? Which is too bad, because they really are the perfect snack and I could eat them all the time!
Ami@NaiveCookCooks says
These look so delicious. I love sriracha so I will obviously love these too!
She Likes Food says
Thanks Ami! You will for sure love these then 🙂
Ashley says
Yup, I am definitely one of those people who puts sriracha on everything!! Hand raised!!
These nuts would last about 2.5 seconds at our house – they sound ridiculously good!
She Likes Food says
Sriracha lovers unite!! They didn’t last long here either, I was eating them for breakfast and snacking on them at all hours of the day. I think it is time for another batch!
Monica says
Right now would be the perfect time for a big handful of these nuts. It looks amazing and so smart to use sriracha in this way!
She Likes Food says
Thanks Monica! Every time is a perfect time for a big handful of these, ha!

Isadora, these look soooooooo good! #srirachaforever

Haha! I love that hashtag! Thank you, Emma 🙂

Izzy! I also outgrew my ranch phase, but I don’t even know if I’ve tried sriracha. Sadness! I read about the sriracha shortage last year and then they decided to bring it back bc people loved it so much. Anywho, I need to try some! And there’s NOTHING better than sweet/salty. Nothing! Even in desserts. I sometimes top cupcakes with sea salt because I like it that much -that stays between you and I, girlfriend 😉 Love this recipe! Love nuts! And love your photos! They really POP.
She Likes Food says
Al!! It is so crazy to think how I used to drown everything with ranch dressing! I think I lost about 10 pounds when I finally stopped eating it, ha! You must try sriracha! It is spicy but has such a great flavor, I love adding it to sauces and dressings, and really pretty much everything! I love the sweet and salty combo too! Sometimes I eat with corn chips with a side of chocolate, they just seem to make eachother taste so much better! Sea salt on cupcakes sounds ammmmazing! Thanks so much, girl! xoxo!
Sarah @ SnixyKitchen says
Duuuuuude – my husband will be all over these!

My husband was all over them too, at least the ones I decided I would share with him 🙂
Ceara @ Ceara's Kitchen says
OH MY!! You have outdone yourself with this recipe! Siracha maple nuts? What an amazing idea! I literally cannot wait to try this. I love putting siracha on pretty much everything! Can’t wait to try! Salty and sweet together are one of my fav. combos ever! Pinned!
She Likes Food says
Aww, thank you so much Ceara! They are really so good and addicting that I finally had to cut myself off after three batches! I think it is about time I make some more though 🙂 Thanks for pinning! I hope you love them!
Cait says
Made these earlier this week with some cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds and peanuts. I even added a few raisins in there for some chewiness.
Anyway, they are delicious and I will make them again. I don’t think I measured anything super precisely, but I got about 4 snack-sized ziplocs from my batch. Thank you!
She Likes Food says
Hi Cait!! I’m so happy to hear that you liked them! I love the addition of the sunflower seeds and especially the raisins, I’ll have to throw some of those in next time! I tend to just throw things in and not measure much either, I think that is how some of the best recipes are made!
Thank you so much for letting me know that you made them and that you enjoyed them! That made my day 🙂
Lisa Plotnik says
These are so amazing! I’ve made them twice this weekend and given away snack treats of these. I am so happy to have tried them! I think I will be making them weekly for a while! Thank you for this recipe!
She Likes Food says
Thank you so much, Lisa! When I was testing this recipe I made about ten batches and just couldn’t stop eating them! I haven’t made them in a while, but am thinking I need to soon! I’m so glad you loved them! Thank you so much for your comment 🙂
Niki says
These look absolutely amazing. I was wondering if raw nuts would be okay instead of roasted? I have a huge bag of raw pecans that I need to do something with.
She Likes Food says
Thank you, Niki!! I haven’t made them with raw nuts before, but I might toast them up just a little bit first to ensure that the nuts are crispy! I hope you enjoy them 🙂
Niki says
I’m making these for the third time in three weeks right now! My husband and I can’t get enough of them. Even the time I accidentally bumped the temperature up to 350 and kind of burned them, they were still great!
I took your suggestion and toasted the pecans on a dry skillet. Worked perfectly.
Thanks so much for the excellent (and addicting) recipe!
She Likes Food says
Hi Niki! I haven’t made them for a while, but when I first came up with them I made them like ten times in one week and just could not stop eating them! I’m so glad you guys like them! You are making me want to make a batch now! 🙂
Mechelle says
Mine stayed sticky and I followed recipe exactly. Even put them back in oven and added more time after I took them out of oven. I made sure they weren’t clumped together also
She Likes Food says
I’m sorry to hear that, were they still sticky even after letting them cool for a bit?
