Is there anything more refreshing than watermelon in the summer?! It’s sweet, but not the artificial kind, and packed with lots of water, which makes it perfect for hot days. It’s also a beautiful, bright color! These One-Ingredient Watermelon Slushies are delicious, nutritious, and such a delightfully refreshing summer treat.

I’m sometimes in awe of how nature produces such beautifully colored fruits and vegetables. Not to mention delicious-tasting, too!

Watermelon Slushy Recipe Ingredients
- Watermelon – There is just one ingredient for this healthy, refreshing summer treat: one mini seedless watermelon.
- Garnish – If you like, you can garnish the slushy with mint or cilantro.
How To Make These One-Ingredient Slushies
- Cut the rind off the watermelon and slice it into chunks.
- Freeze half of the chunks until frozen, 1-2 hours, then refrigerate the other half.
- Add the frozen and refrigerated watermelon to a blender and blend until it reaches a slushy texture. You may need to add a little bit of water to the blender to get things going. Garnish with cilantro or mint, if desired.

Recipe Tips and Thoughts
- These one-ingredient watermelon slushies are so easy to make. The hardest thing is waiting for the watermelon to freeze, because the amazing smell of the watermelon will make you want to eat it all immediately. I won’t tell if you sneak a few pieces š
- It’s been really hot here lately, so if you are looking for me, I will be hiding in the AC, watching late-night talks on Hulu, sipping a large pitcher of these watermelon slushies!
- I recommend enjoying these slushies after blending; you can keep some watermelon frozen in the freezer until ready to make again.

This is the best slushie recipe I’ve ever tried! Since my blender isn’t that strong, I made the fresh melon into a juice before adding the frozen, and it turned out AMAZING! I will definitely use this during the hot summer!
Thank you so much, Valerie! Yes, they are so delicious and refreshing in the summer!
Can I suggest making it even simpler ā freeze cubed up watermelon and just throw that and some mint in the blender. I almost always end up with more watermelon than I can eat, so I freeze extra chunks just for watermelon slushies (sometimes with alcohol, mostly without.)
I love the idea of adding mint š
I agree, there is nothing more refreshing than cold watermelon on a hot summer day! It was 95 degrees here yesterday so I feel your pain with the heat. I’m going to have to make a batch of these very soon!
This is such a great idea, I’ve done watermelon juice before of course, and watermelon popsicles, but I think the slushy sounds best of all!
Great minds think alike, Izzy! I just made some watermelon slushies last week too š There is nothing better than watermelon during the summer and your slushies look perfect!
These slushies look amazing and I love how it’s literally just made of watermelon- so healthy and simple!
Gah how I love watermelon! I’m with you – it’s so perfectly lightly sweet all on it’s own! These slushies sound soo good! It’s been so hot here already … I’m gonna need these all summer long!
Ok, you had me at 1 ingredient! This is such a perfect summer drink, Izzy! Watermelon just screams summer, and sipping this deliciousness is perfection. Love your gorgeous photos!
Wait, what?? This is the most genius (and obviously the easiest!) slushy I’ve ever seen in my life! We had a HUGE watermelon for the holiday yesterday and I have tons of leftovers today so I think I know what I’m making with it!!
This slushy is total genius! I LOVE watermelon so much! I think I’ll love it even more in slushy form!
